I was born and raised in Billings Montana. Aside from designing websites, my main passion is rock climbing and exploring the great outdoors.

About Me

My programming journey started with teaching myself how to make video games. In an effort to bring my overly ambitious goals to life, I used any resources I could get my hands on to learn programming. Through years of hard work, my code gradually started to improve and even later, I started to complete projects I was actually proud of. To continue improving my skills I completed a bachelor's degree in computer science from Montana State University. From here, my passion for game design expanded into a passion for programming in general. Instead of just making things for myself, I found fulfillment in providing value to real people and solving their problems. Now, I design websites where I can combine the user-experience-focused design I learned from game dev, the logic-solving programming I studied later, and the passion I have for helping make peoples' visions come true.

How I Can Help You

At the end of the day, what matters is user experience. I always strive to create designs that are enjoyable and effortless to use by focusing on interaction first. I create designs that are intuitive to use and understand by following key design patterns. I also test my creations on various systems such as different browsers and devices (laptop, mobile, etc.) throughout the development process.

Lots of drag-and-drop website designers exist out there which promise to deliver the website of your dreams with just a few button presses. However, because these designers only offer generic solutions your design won't stand out among the countless others using the same software. What's worse, they can't account for any custom features that your vision might require meaning that you will need to comprise or give up. To ensure that doesn't happen I build everything from the ground up in tried-and-true technology. I won't offer you a cookie-cutter solution because people don't have a cookie-cutter goal. Instead, I will work with you so that every custom feature you can think of gets implemented exactly like you envision it. Ensuring that you're website is one of a kind!

My goal is not just to design a website for you, but to help you and your vision succeed. I'm always looking for ways my work can bring meaningful, quantifiable, value to you and what you do. Because of this, I prioritize clear and frequent communication so that we can arrive at solutions together. And, when the website is finished I am always available to assist if you have questions, need a new feature, or something breaks.

WordPress is a content management system (CMS) that currently is used to power over 43% of websites on the internet. I use WordPress because it allows me to hand over control of the website's content to my clients. This means that they can add, delete, and edit posts and pages without needing to do any programming or have any technical knowledge. Once I create a website for you if you need to change the wording, create a new post, or delete something you can easily do that all on your own. For example, this block of text was created through WordPress! So, if this was your website you could put any text you wanted here in a snap.

Projects

Here are projects that I solely developed or significantly contributed to. Click any of the projects listed below to learn more.

Many Waters Editing

This website was created for Stephanie, a book editor and beta reader. She already had a good idea of what she wanted her website to look like and needed someone who could make it happen. I worked very closely with Stephanie as I created the design to ensure that each font, color, border style, etc. was to her specifications and matched her vision. Good communication was key to the success of the project.

Published Mobile Game

Ever since I started programming it was a goal of mine to one day publish my own video game. However, I was naive and didn't realize just how difficult of a task I had set out for myself. "Stupid to Live" was the video game that I eventually succeeded in publishing after working on it for over 4 years. It's a puzzle platform where the puzzles use your intuition against you. While the game itself might not be the most technically impressive thing in the world, the lessons I learned from creating, polishing, marketing, and publishing this large project have been crucial to my success in the rest of my career.

An Eternal Vision Website

This website was created for the Montana based non-profit organization "An Eternal Vision." They run boy and girl summer camps along with other events and wanted someplace they could point people to which would allow them to view and register for upcoming events. A good first impression that emphasized the organization's values and the option for the organization to manage the event listings themselves were two key points of my site's design.

Testimonies

It turned out better than we imagined. We also appreciate your timeliness in getting it up and running, and also your creativity and ability to adjust appropriately when we needed changes.
